Most financial advisors say we will need to plan to spend approximately seventy-five percent of our pre-retirement income to maintain our current lifestyle Senior living Macon GA. Some even say that we will spend the same in retirement that we spend before retirement.

I personally have a problem with this advice. I have researched this subject to determine current real living expenses and what our real living expense will be after retirement.

To completely understand Senior living Warner Robins GA expenses, we need solid, accurate data as a basis from which to start.

The best data source in the United States for this information is from the Consumer Expenditure Survey which is conducted annually by the Bureau of Labor Statistics of the Department of Labor. This information for 2006 (latest year available) can be accessed at the website listed below.

The data that most closely models a couple nearing retirement their retirement living Macon GA is found in the table, “Composition of Consumer Unit”. In this table the column “Husband and wife only” contains the information that we need to examine.

From the survey, we find that there are over 25 million couples in this “husband and wife only” group. The average age of the reference member is 56.8 years. The combined income of the couple is $73,032 and the after tax income is $69,350. Right here, the income tax savings is up to $3,682 depending on how much tax this couple must pay after retirement.

We find from the data that the total retirement living Warner Robins GA expense of our couple is $55,631 or 76 percent of income. This is very close to the figure that the financial advisors are using. But wait! There are expenses in the $55K number that will disappear after retirement.

Also, the real affordable Senior living Macon GA expenses can be broken into basic living expenses which are required for survival and discretionary living expenses which are “nice to have” but not totally necessary. Mind you, the definition of which are which will vary by couple.

I examined the affordable retirement living Macon GA expenses and eliminated those that will disappear at retirement. I then classified the expenses as basic and discretionary. The result:

· Real retirement living expenses - $40,000 (54.8% of income)

· Basic living expenses - $28,000 (38.3% of income)

· Discretionary living expenses - $12,000 (16.45 of income)

This is a considerable difference from the 75 percent “rule of thumb” used in the industry.

My findings from this analysis are available at Retirement Living Expenses. From that web page, you can download an Excel spreadsheet that you can use to model your real retirement expenses.

I encourage you to study the information from the survey of this average couple nearing retirement to see how your expenditures compare and what your real retirement expenses will be.

You may not need as much money for a comfortable retirement as your financial advisor is telling you.

Introduction

According to a recent survey by the Met Life Mature Market Institute, 83 percent of individuals reaching retirement age do not plan to leave their current residence. Unfortunately, some of these individuals are going to be faced with circumstances beyond their control that will require them to do just that. The good news? Seniors today have many available options when it comes to choosing a retirement community. For some, the type of senior community Detroit MI selected will be a matter of choice, while for others it will be based on need. There are essentially six types to choose from: Active Adult, Independent Living, Assisted living Detroit MI, Continuing Care, Alzheimer’s Care and Nursing Care. Let’s take a closer look at each type.

Active Adult Communities

Active Adult Communities include a variety of different dwelling options such as single-family homes, town homes, cluster homes, manufactured housing and multifamily housing. These communities are either age-restricted or age-targeted. Age-Restricted Communities are specifically aimed at persons age 55 and older while Age-Targeted Communities are similar to Age-Restricted Communities except their marketing targets adults age 55 or older but they are not explicitly age-restricted. Leisure Communities are another option designed for empty nesters but without age restrictions.

Independent Senior homes Detroit MI Living Communities

Independent Living Communities are designed for seniors who are active, healthy and able to live without assistance. They also consist of a variety of housing options in settings designed for independent lifestyles. They are no different from other residential communities except that there is an age restriction (over 55) or an age target.

Assisted Living Communities

Retirment Community Detroit MI cater to people who have trouble performing some activities of daily living without help. They are state licensed and designed for seniors who need regular help with daily activities (bathing, dressing, toilet assistance, walking, medication reminders) but who do not need a nursing care facility. Care is available for seniors with some functional impairments, either physical or cognitive. Other services consist of an emergency call system supported by 24-hour security and staff availability, meals served in a common dining room, housekeeping services, transportation, health promotion and exercise programs, medication management, personal laundry services, and social and recreational activities.

Continuing Care Retirement Communities

Continuing Care Retirement Communities are designed for healthy people who don’t want additional worries about where they are going to live as they grow older and how they are going to cope with potential future illness or the frailty of extreme old age. Once moved into a Continuing Care Retirement Community, residency is continued in the same development regardless of health changes at an established unchanging cost.

Memory care Detroit MI And Alzheimer’s Care Facilities

These facilities specialize in caring for patients with Alzheimer’s disease or other forms of dementia. A patient may start off in an assisted living facility in the early or mid-stages of the disease, but due to its progressive, degenerative nature will most likely need more care as time goes on. Frequently, assisted living facilities have a separate Alzheimer’s unit but when this isn’t the case, after the onset of advanced dementia, the patient would need to be transferred to a facility equipped to provide the required care.

Nursing Care Facilities

There are two types of nursing facilities associated with residential facilities. There are intermediate care facilities which provide custodial and intermediate care, and skilled nursing facilities, which provide custodial, intermediate, and skilled care. Custodial care is non medical care that includes around-the-clock supervision, as well as assistance with personal needs such as eating, bathing, dressing, grooming, toilet assistance, and mobility. Intermediate care provides basic medical care. Skilled care provides more intensive medical care.

Conclusion

As you can see, Seniors have many options when it comes to choosing a retirement community. While some choices are driven more by need than desire, at least we can take comfort in knowing there are so many options and levels of care available. And those reluctant to embrace the idea of giving up their pre-retirement home should be made aware that it’s not only possible to live independently, but that independence can co-exist with the conveniences, amenities and peace of mind many adult active and independent living communities have to offer.

As we get older, we start thinking about how our lives will change in the years to come. It can be hard to face up to the facts sometimes - you or someone you care about can’t go on living at home because it’s just too hard. Moving into a Metairie nursing home or care home can be the result of numerous factors, but commonly it’s down to the difficulty of living with health problems.

Ill health and disabilities that come with age can make life at home too hard without help. Having live-in care or carers at home is an option but usually this is too expensive for most people to afford. Plus there are modifications that need to be made to the home in order to make it easier to navigate Metairie senior living and to help with washing and getting into bed. Family might not be able to provide the full scope of care, despite their best efforts. Sadly, some people might not have any family or loved ones to help.

A New Orleans nursing home offers an opportunity to be cared for in a safe and comfortable environment. But the process of moving from your family home and into a new, strange environment can be upsetting. It can be very hard to leave the place where you raised a family and that you have so many wonderful memories of. That’s why choosing a nursing care home that feels like home is so important. Meeting the people who you’ll be spending time with, seeing the grounds and getting a feel for what life might be like in any particular nursing home New Orleans is as important as the services provided.

Try to focus on the good things that living in a care home can bring. It can bring relief from the stresses that accompany old age and give you more time for enjoyment. You’ll be part of a community of people, many with similar experiences to you. You’ll have freedom to come and go, see friends and family and importantly, you will be cared for. Genuinely cared for. Staff in nursing homes not only have to be qualified in delivering care, they are required to be caring people. Forget the horror stories you may have heard or seen on TV. These nursing/care homes staff represent a tiny, almost immeasurable fraction of an otherwise dedicated, loving and brilliant workforce. If all the good deeds of care homes staff were reported on as much as the bad, there wouldn’t be enough hours in a day to report them all!

image

All good nursing care homes provide round the clock care and provide some of the services that a hospital might normally provide, which distinguishes them from traditional retirement homes. Specialist nursing care can be accommodated for in some circumstances, so if you need any particular treatments or medication, speak to staff and nurses - they’ll be able to arrange the best way forward for you.

If you or a loved one are moving to an a Houston assisted living home, you may be wondering what items you should pack. There are many factors to consider, including space, regulations and your preferences. By following these tips, you should be able to narrow down your most beloved possessions so that you can take them with you to your new home.

Space

Before you start trying to decide which items to take with you, look at the space in that retirement community Houston you will have in your room. If it is very small, you will only need to pack the essentials. If you have a larger apartment, you will have more freedom in choosing which belongings to take with you.

For smaller rooms, check the layout of the room. If the layout is flexible, you will be able to choose where to put your bed, television, chair and other items. You can then design the room to better accommodate your furniture. Retirement homes Houston use multipurpose furniture when possible in order to fit more into your small space. For example, choose an ottoman that opens up so that you can store your favorite books or magazines inside. Take a walker that can double as a chair, or pack an ultra lightweight wheelchair that you can fold up and store when you aren’t using it.

Regulations

Some assisted retirement homes in Houston living centers are very strict about what you may bring, while others are very relaxed. Find out exactly what is allowed and what isn’t, then plan accordingly. They may also provide furniture for you, such as beds, chairs and televisions.

If you have a pet, senior living Houston will need to consider its needs before you make your move. Again, some centers allow pets, while others do not. If you will not be allowed to take your pet with you or if you think your pet will not adjust well to the move, ask a loved one to care for your pet. He can then bring the dog or cat to see you when he visits.

Preferences

This can be the hardest part of packing because so many senior living in Houston memories are alive in your possessions. However, it is important that you take only the essentials to your new home. Photo albums and pictures are an excellent way to make the center feel like home. If possible, leave your books behind because the center will probably have a library that you can enjoy. If you have a hobby, such as knitting or carving, take your basic tools and leave.

Article Writing Tips and Tricks
Internet marketers know that one of the most popular ways to drive traffic to their websites is through article marketing. However, having the knowledge of what can be done is only one part. Actually writing the articles is entirely another. Some internet marketers are so intimidated by article writing that they hire professional content producers to do the writing for them. That’s all well and good, but can you afford to outsource?
You’ll pay at least $20 for a good 400-500 word article. Fortunately, most people just need to be pointed in the right direction to learn how to do this kind of writing. Keep reading and you’ll find some great suggestions that are proven to work, and you can begin using them right away.
Do not treat your articles like they’re academic essays. The standard format and structure of the essay is this: “tell them what you are going to say, say it and then tell them what you said.” But the article is more like the “reverse pyramid” format, or structure. Usually, in an essay the information that is not important is placed in the middle part. In an article you put the most important information at the beginning of the article (after the introduction) and then leave the lesser information for the end of the article (before the conclusion). What this does is it presents the most important content right after the introduction, so if the reader doesn’t read all of it they’ll still get the most important.
Always write your introduction in very clear language. The introduction does not have to be long. As is apparent, this section merely states the topic and what the reader will learn. People are different, and some writers will take forever to get this part done. Other people choose to just do a few straight forward sentences. In addition, the introduction serves to lead the reader further into the article body. Some people do this best with simple sentences. You’ll also find the opposite in which the intro is verbose. With practice, you’ll discover your own preference.
Internet articles used for article marketing purposes are usually different than the articles you will read in a newspaper or magazine. The voices used in each is different. It may be to your advantage to find out what the differences are. It may not be beneficial to write in a manner that people online are used to seeing. So check out some magazines and compare the styles to online article directory articles.
Article marketing is a great way to drum up publicity for the products and services that you are selling. If you don’t do a good job with your articles, then it will probably be a big waste of your time. Luckily, learning how to be a better article writer is not difficult. However, as you probably know, it will take some time, patience, and certainly effort to get there. Like anything else, if you are willing to do the work, then your article writing journey can start right after you finish reading this sentence.
